OK, ok, I should clarify - at the end Realm of Empires is a sort of virtual community so you can, if you want to, spend the whole day messaging friends. The intention is that you do not need to spend a lot of time to enjoy playing the game.
Also, the 15 minutes per day is our goal. We conciously decided not to reward players constant online presence and instead we'll offer tools to simplify repetative tasks. We've got a long way to go as anyone with 100 villages can attest to, however, we will get there! There are many ideas on the drawing board that will make it possible - btw, many thanks to all those players who offer their suggestions!
You see, may of such games reward activity - the more often you are online the better you will do. And they shy away from offering features that would allow you to login once or twice daily. I suppose those ads got to be displayed, banners clicked ;)
We decided to create a game for busy people, people like us. Everything in the game is designed with this goal in mind. I know many features are missing, but they are coming!

Ok, ive read a lot of suggestions on here, and i have a few of my own that i would like to post, First, many players do fall to disadvantages, so a way to help them is to find better ways to build and recruit. for me, it does not take long to get good points with the player protection, but thats because ive played RoE for years, but during that player protection, have a silver bonus to provide more silver for those that are starting. when the player protection wears off, so does the silver bonus. also, remove the hq building thing so you dont have to wait till hq is up to level 15 to build however many you want, limit it to like 4 things instead of 1 until HQ is level 15. Another idea, add a new building for archers and horse archers, but i can see with adding this, you would have to change a lot in RoE, another suggestion would be research, research for an arrow slit in the torrows for defense, which will help kill troops incoming to your vill, thank you for your time

just give player a maximum time per week (10hours) to be online once they click the button the time start just like sleep mode BUT all attacks on rebels should be instant including research. If you have more time left then use that on the day you want to attack/def.
Well as a new player I agree with a couple I have read. "15 Minutes a day...really?" is a good title for this game. When you first start you can play almost continuously for a couple days. You start to think wow this is a great game! Then you hit the downfall 15 Minutes and done...REALLY? THIS SUCKS!!!
It has the same downfall as most other games similar to this one you get bored quickly. The time it takes for things to rebuild naturally through game exponentially increases instead of a gradual progression. You can do more and play longer to get ahead if you do one of 2 things that in other blog posts you disagree with (A) Spend lots of money to buy servants to trade for silver/troops/bonus increases or (B) SPAMMING all your friends to join game and send you gifts. Like I said both of which you have posted blog entries against. It shows you would make a good politician.
Would you be able to make an attack tool where you can go to your logs and select any number of previous attacks and resend the same attacks again. I send out anywhere from 25 to 50 attacks at one time all to different villages to "farm" them and that does take sometime.
Construction scheduler... would be nice to schedule things to start building once requirements met. Example: when starting, silver is a limiting factor. It would be nice to build a queue of things to be built, enhanced, as soon as funds/food available (sort of like unlimited building, but allowing you to schedule them before the cash is at hand).
I think one thing that would help in the endeavor of the 15 min a day thing would be: 1) when sending silver you are able to just click a bunch of vills check boxed style and hit send. kind of like how the emails can be deleted. you pick the vil you are sending too and then check mark all the vils you want to send from. this would only work in quick silver sending mode.
the friendly fire feature is terrible, its ridicules that a person can attack their own villages, come ON guys, also we should be able to see the troops of an attacking player, they get info on our cities and can plan an attack accordingly, however how can we defend effectively against an attack we know virtually nothing about, as any good general/commander knows, knowledge is power, please guys, thanks
it would be nice if you could attack from villages you are supporting. That way you do not need to wait for the troops to return before attacking.
I think some tips once a while would be good. Some of us need tips as to know what to research first and what's not o necessary.

I would like to see a research to improve movement rates.
Theres no way you keep shortening the SM mode which is only thing that allows you to leave without checking otherwise if you dont check every hour or so you lose a vill when not in sleepmode also i think a good idea is when you spy you can tell where the troops are from that are supporting the villa
Hello I'd like to start by saying this game is really good for that little time I have to spare throughout the day. I have been looking over all the different things people have posted and see a lot of ideas that are pretty good. I may have over looked it but I didn't see any one suggest this. Could you maybe think about allowing a troop transfer from one place to another? It would be like if you said oh I'm moving to new town next week and you pack your stuff and go. This could be good and bad. It would allow players to put forces for attack together slightly faster. Also make the food still come from there original village so that people don't go over board. One supper army might be able to wipe a village out but if you get hit in the farms your army could drop dead. Just some food for thought lol.
I really have to agree with the posts i read concerning an archer unit instead of malitia at games beginning, low attack values and high defences.
It can be very difficult to defend against players who are hungry for my silver...lol

start the realm from the rim and work in giving a bigger area so old clans from other realms can not group so fast, so to start with 15mins a day will work
why? so other people who aren't looking to be close to clan members, friends, or family can choose to place their village close to their other village and work with their other village that's under another player's name? most horrible idea ever for a strategy game no offense it sounds good in theory.

Hello. I would like to know what the 10% Monarchy does for that government. Is it 10% more power or is it like the equivalent of having 10% more troops
